Hi, we're Claire and Rachael.

Together, we are Dragonfly: Impact Education. We champion the belief that emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health.

Our mission is to help children and young people fulfil their potential.

In 2019, we were finalists in The Coaching Academy International Awards in the Coaching in Education Category. We love sharing what we know about coaching as we have no doubt of its impact. This led us to create our Coaching in Healthy Schools course and we invite you to join us via a completely flexible distance learning approach.

The full course is available online with an optional live webinar available to complement the training. We have designed the webinar to be appropriate whatever stage you take part, whether it's before you start the course, in the middle or at the end.

Coaching in Healthy Schools

Distance Learning

‘Coaching in Healthy Schools’ is a course that will be benefit headteachers, senior leaders, middle leaders, classroom teachers and support staff. It focuses on how a coaching approach can benefit every member of a school community.

Coaching is regularly used in education to great effect; however, it is sometimes misunderstood and therefore does not always fulfil expectations.

This course will enable you to both increase your knowledge of coaching, but also develop your coaching skills – which are transferable to almost every situation.

We will adopt a broad understanding of the history of coaching, what it is (and what it’s not) and how it can benefit every aspect of a school community - encompassing how coaching can be linked with human flourishing in all aspects: academic achievement, career success, emotional wellbeing and character education.

Improved relationships and communication ensuring a cohesive culture

A climate of psychological safety leading to greater success

Increased personal accountability and ownership

On this course, you'll gain:

Knowledge about the history of coaching and its evidence-base

Understanding and practical examples of how to use the GROW model as a structure for professional conversations

A clearer understanding of how to create rapport

Improved understanding of the three levels of listening and their importance

This course is for you if you are:

“I thought the whole course was fab – especially Claire & Rachael – really knowledgeable”

We founded Dragonfly to realise our passion for supporting schools nationwide in equipping the whole person for success both in and beyond the classroom.

We do this by empowering them with knowledge and strategies to spot the signs of mental ill health whilst promoting a positive mental health culture.

As classroom teachers (for a combined 35+ years!), we are superbly placed to offer practical ways of incorporating new knowledge about mental health into schools. Qualified coaches, First Aid for Mental Health instructors and Safeguarding instructors, we also hold Advanced Skills Teacher status and a Master’s Degree in Education – Leadership and Management. In addition, we are qualified in school counselling and creative therapy.

This year, embarking on a Masters' Degree in Character Education is enabling us to learn from global leaders in this area at the University of Birmingham. We can't wait to share knowledge with you from this pioneering field.

We'd love to see you soon, Claire and Rachael x
