The BIG questions before you make the leap...

Q: I've not applied for my grant yet, can I still book?

A: Yes of course. We can help you through the process.

Q: How do I know the course is good quality?

A: Dragonfly Impact have recently been audited by the DfE and they said our course was exceeding expectations. We also provide feedback from our delegates lower down.

Q: Is the course fully funded or is it £595?

A: Both! Schools get a grant of £1200 and then pay us directly for the course.

Q: Where does the course take place?
A: It’s all online and self-paced, apart from the first introductory webinar which is a live session for an hour. You choose this date on the booking form.

Q: How long will it take to get my certificate?

A: As short as 5 months and as long as 12 months – entirely up to you.

Q: What is the time commitment?

A: There are 10 hours of videos that make up the core training and an hour of coaching. The rest is up to you and depends what’s already in place and what your aims are as a school.

Q: Do you assess us?

A: We don’t assess you like some other courses or check up on you in the sense of judging your work. We do check in with you and you’ll have a mentor that is always on hand to support.

Meet Rachael & Claire

We're the founders of Dragonfly: Impact Education.

Our mission: To give leaders the expertise to build schools where good mental health is the foundation for all success.

For us, ensuring a positive mental health culture in schools is a Four Wing thing.

Just as a dragonfly needs four wings to have the manoeuvrability to adapt and respond to its environment, school cultures need four elements in place to ensure all members of the community can benefit from good mental health, resilience and the capacity to respond to the challenges we all face.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴: for pupils to be well, the adults around them need to be well!

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 & 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: having clear values, prioritising mental health and wellbeing and creating psychological safety establishes a culture where good mental health can flourish.

𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: we all need to feel safe – physically, emotionally and psychologically – and we all need to have our needs met. These are the foundations for mental health.

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀: school staff need to know how to support the good mental health of all their pupils, spot the signs of mental ill-health and have a clear system to follow when they have a concern.

That’s why our Four Wing thing underpins all of our training. Because above all, minds matter.

Our Flying Start webinar (available each month) introduces you to the programme and Claire & Rachael are on-hand to answer any questions and provide support.

Our 5 core units are divided into 10 x 30 minute videos for you to access at your convenience. They cover:

Leadership and management; Staff development; Creating an ethos and environment; Identifying needs and monitoring impact of interventions; Targeted support and appropriate referrals.

After the core units, you have 2 x 1:1 strategy coaching sessions (30 minutes each) where you're provided with a safe space to discuss your approach to the role, your goals and explore possible actions to implement your strategic vision.

What people have said about working with us -

"Thanks again for the course - hands down best CPD I've ever done!"
Noel Chambers – Hebburn Comprehensive School, Tyne and Wear

"I really enjoyed working with Rachael and Claire.  Even though the course was remotely delivered they both were approachable, warm and easy to talk to."
Kathryn Jobling - Lobley Hill Primary School, Tyne and Wear

"Claire and Rachael were both incredibly sensitive, flexible, supportive and knowledgeable. Both were so engaging throughout and they really couldn't offer more for their learners. The online platform was very useful! This gave more flexibility and opportunity for catch ups when needed. An excellent idea if you have missed out on anything or need to look again."
Sophie Howarth – Blyth School, Nottingham
